MAST Permit FAQs: Washington State Requirements
What is a MAST Permit?
MAST stands for Mandatory Alcohol Server Training. It’s a WSLCB-required certification for anyone who serves, mixes, sells, or supervises alcohol sales in Washington liquor-licensed establishments (e.g., bars, restaurants). It ensures safe, legal service and covers alcohol effects, ID checks, and intervention. Enroll in our 3-hour course for $19.99!
Who needs alcohol server training?
Anyone handling alcohol on-premises: bartenders, servers, managers, supervisors, event staff, and tasting coordinators. Off-premises (e.g., grocery tastings) requires Class 12. No permit? Fines up to $500 + jail time.
When do I need to be trained?
Within 60 days of hire (grace period). For tastings/events, immediate Class 12 needed. Carry your permit + ID at all times for inspections. Start now – no waiting!
How much does a Washington MAST permit course cost?
$10–$40 depending on provider. Our WSLCB-approved online course is $19.99 (mobile-friendly, 99% pass rate). Always verify state certification to avoid invalid permits. Get yours for $19.99
